Surjeet Singh Biography: Surjeet Singh born on 10^th August 1990 is a kabaddi player from India. He represents India in international tournaments and started his Pro Kabaddi League journey in season 4 Puneri Paltan but will be playing for Tamil Thalaivas in 2021 for the 8th PKL season. Currently, he is regarded as the finest defender in the country with his signature move dash and was part of Indian Kabaddi which won gold at the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup, 2017 Southeast Asian Games, and 2017 Asian Beach Games.

Surjeet Singh’s Early Life

Surjeet was born in the state of Haryana of India in a sport blood family with his father being a former kabaddi player. Kabaddi was the most played sport in his family and village. He started playing the sport full-fledged in inter-school kabaddi matches on the recommendation of his school’s sports coach.

He kept representing and growing representing his school on the district level. Surjeet was always supported to pursue his career in the sport. Surjeet was highly motivated after winning the state championship. He was trained under coach Jeet Singh in his village.

In 2016, he was selected in the Pro Kabaddi League for his performance on an international level.

• He was part of the Indian team which won gold at the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup.
• In 2017, he represented at the 2017 Asian Kabaddi Championship and helped the team secure gold in the tournament.
• After a few months, he led the team to another gold medal with his defensive scores in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.

• Surjeet was bought by Puneri Paltan in the 3rd PKL season. In his debut season, he scored 48 tackle points in 12 matches with 5 High 5’s.
• In the 4th PKL season, he was bought by U Mumba for his astonishing performance in his debut season. In his first season with U Mumba, he scored a total of 47 tackle points in 13 matches.
• He was released by U Mumba and bought by Bengal Warriors as a captain where he retained for another season.
• In the 5th PKL season, he played 24 matches as a captain and scored 76 tackle points with 9 High 5’s.
• Captaining the squad for another season, he scored 54 tackle points in 23 matches of the 6th season.
• In the 7th season, he was bought by Puneri Paltan and scored 63 tackle points in 21 matches with 7 Super Tackles and High 5’s.
• He will be representing the squad of Tamil Thalaivas for the 8th PKL season.
• His raid strike rate is 57% and his tackle strike rate is 45%. His total earned points are 60.
