Anshu Malik Biography: Anshu Malik is an Indian freestyle wrestler. She was the silver medal winner in the women’s 57 kg event at the World Wrestling Championships 2021 which was held in Oslo, Norway. She is recognized as the first Indian wrestler who has won a silver medal at the World Championships in the women’s division. She is also recognized for presenting India in the Summer Olympics 2024. Anshu Malik Biography: Anshu Malik was born on 5th August 2001 in Nidani, Jind district, Haryana, India. As of 2024, she is 23 years old. She became interested in wrestling at a very early age and she started training for it. She went to the college Chaudhary Bharat Singh Memorial Sports School, Nidani, Jind. She has been coached by Ramchandra Pawar.

Anshu Malik started her career brilliantly as she won a gold medal in the 60 kg category of the Cadet Wrestling Championships. In 2020, she won a bronze medal in the 57 kg event at the Asian Wrestling Championships which was held in New Delhi, India. She also won a silver medal in the women’s 57 kg event at the Individual Wrestling World Cup 2020 which was held in Belgarde, Serbia.

In 2021, she won a gold medal in the Asian Wrestling Championships along with her Indian teammates Divya Kakran and Vinesh Phogat. In 2022, she won a bronze medal in the 57 kg event at the Asian Wrestling Championships which was held in Ulaanbaatar. In the same year, she had settled for the silver medal in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games after she received the women’s 57 kg freestyle final.

In the same year, she suffered an injury which took a long recovery period. After recovering, she went on to win the National Wrestling Championships against Sarita Mor. She trained with the undefeated Japanese wrestler Akaro Fujinami in 2024, as she was preparing for the Summer Olympics 2024. On the other hand, she also competed at the Asian Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament 2024 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Because of that, she made her place in the Olympics 2024. She competed in the women’s 57 kg event at the Olympics.

Anshu Malik represented India in the Summer Olympics 2024 in Paris. She participated in the women’s 57 kg event at the tournament. Sadly, she didn’t win any medals in the tournament.

Anshu Malik Family

Anshu Malik was born into a Jat Malik family in 2001. She comes from a family of wrestlers. Her father;’s name is Dharamvir Malik, who was an international wrestler himself and also worked with the CISF. The name of her mother is not disclosed yet. Even it is not known whether she has any siblings or not.
