He is representing SRH (Sunrisers Hyderabad) in the 2021 Indian Premier League and plays for Rajasthan in domestic cricket. Abhishek was born in a sports blood family in the Golden City, Amritsar of Punjab, India with his father, Raj Kumar Sharma being a former cricket player, and his mother Manju Sharma being a housewife. He was manifested by the sport from childhood getting inspired by his father who was a junior selector and also was a trainer for the sport.

At starting he played with his friends in the gullies getting trained by his father with basic cricket skills. He trained at a local sports club under his father’s guidance and represented the club in local tournaments.
