Andre Testut Career

In 1957, Testut partnered with his colleague Louis Chiron to compete in the 24th running of the Mille Miglia. The two raced a Citroen DS19 under Montecarlo Team and placed 103rd. 1957’s victory at the Vuillafans-Echevannes sports car competition earned Testut a letter of compliments from the Maserati brothers, who had founded OSCA after being forced out of their own company.

In 1958 and 1959, Testut participated in two Formula One World Championship Grands Prix in Monaco. Both times, while driving his Maserati 250F, he failed to qualify. He also entered a car for Chiron in 1958. It would be the final attempt by both drivers to race in Monaco. Testut’s performance improved at the 1958 Syracuse Grand Prix when his engine failed with ten circuits remaining, and he was in seventh place.
