Arsenal send an update about signing Raphinha from Barcelona

Since Newcastle United no longer seemed to be in the running for the signing of Barcelona winger Raphinha this summer, reports indicated that Arsenal were in a good position to finalize the probable move.

The Brazilian international starred for Leeds United in the Premier League, but he has struggled to find his footing at Barca, and his time at the Nou Camp may be cut short.

If Arsenal is serious about bringing Raphinha to the club, this is wonderful news

Sport recently stated that Arsenal chairman Edu had been in constant touch with Raphinha’s representatives about a possible move to bring the Brazilian to the Emirates Stadium, while Gerard Romero revealed serious interest from Newcastle.

The Telegraph reports that after several recruiting meetings to identify prospective additions for this summer, it has become clear that Raphinha is not on Newcastle’s list of goals.

If Arsenal is serious about bringing Raphinha to the club, this is wonderful news. The Brazilian forward might be a handy alternative to provide Mikel Arteta with extra depth up front next season.

Even if both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have been fantastic this season, it’s always good to have choices. Some could say that Raphinha should start right away and that Martinelli should take on a more prominent position.
