Asia Cup 2022: Hardik Pandya praises MS Dhoni, Watch Gautam Gambhir’s epic reaction

Asia Cup 2022: The Asia Cup 2022 is taking place in UAE after a gap of 4 years in the T20 format since the last session it was of the ODI format with India getting the title for the seventh time. The Asia Cup 2022 campaign began on 27th August and defending champions India played the second biggest encounter on Sunday against Pakistan.


India under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma started their campaign with a five wicket victory against their arch rivals Pakistan in the Dubai International Stadium. India won the toss and elected to bowl first. Inviting Pakistan to bowl first the bowling line up of India performed well to restrict Pakistan at a score of 147 with a target of 148.

India in reply, though lost their first wicket early and managed to chase down the target with 2 balls to spare. Hardik Pandya was awarded the man of the match for his all round performance as he bagged three crucial wickets and also took the team over the victory line by an unbeaten 33 off 17 balls finishing the thriller with a six in the last over.

The 28 year old showed his amazing finishing skills by taking the game deep and finishing it comfortably in the last over. His game sense was applauded all around the country as India managed to give an epic reply to the humiliation in the ICC T20 World Cup match against Pakistan.

In the meantime Hardik was also heard crediting Former Indian cricketer MS Dhoni for teaching him the ability to remain calm in such high pressure situations and make the most out of them.

In the post match presentation Hardik was asked about the influence of MS Dhoni in his abilities to remain calm by Jatin Sapru where former Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir was also present. Gautam Gambhir is known for his differences with MS Dhoni in the past. While Hardik was giving credits to Dhoni’s preachings Twitter users were quick to notice Gambhir’s reactions on that which became a topic.

Speaking further Hardik explained how to tried to stay calm and keep things simple and has learned from every cricketer he played with. “I believe in the fact one must remain calm and assess the situation before taking any decision. So, I applied the same method during the game and was constantly assessing the game plan to shift gears accordingly,” Hardik concluded.

Some good knocks were also seen from Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja which helped the team in the successful run chase. Bhubaneswar Kumar’s four wickets were crucial for the Men in Blue. The Men in Blue will next meet Hong Kong on August 31st in their final league stage game.
