Barcelona 2020: La Liga Giants Barcelona look forward to a reconstruction of the squad under new manager Ronald Koeman
Barcelona is trying to build a new team for the upcoming season. This could see some players move out of Camp Nou. The board decided to retain only a few of them. The young prospects are also supposed to stay put. Club captain Lionel Messi wanted to leave Barca this summer. However, president Bartomeu blocked every possible move.
This saw Bartomeu face criticism to the highest level. He still continued his tenure to bring about a couple of changes. Setien led Barcelona to a trophyless season which saw him sacked. Another player who seems to lose his position in the team is Luis Suarez. New manager Koeman is showing more faith in Griezmann. The Dutch gaffer plots to play the Frenchman in a more central role. This means Suarez will deem surplus to requirement with Ansu Fati beaming with potential.
