Barcelona Goalkeeper Ter Stegen places a huge demand in front of the club

It seems the representatives are having some unexpected situation in the midst of the talks as the German International has agreed to reduce his wages due to coronavirus. But the player is still demanding to become the second-highest earner at Barcelona just behind club captain and 6-time Balon D’or winner Lionel Messi.

Financial problems making it hard to finalize the terms

Ter Stegen’s current contract runs down upto 2022 which grants him 24 million euros per year. He is considering reducing his earnings but not less than 18 million euros per year and committing his future to Barcelona till 2025. If the 28-year-old agrees to the deal with the club wanting to spend, he will become the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world. The situation is problematic because the Catalan outfit has surpassed the staff’s cost limit in La Liga due to their significant fall in the budget, as per Goal.
