Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi and Former Blaugrana Luis Suarez creates a big record

Club football has been put to a halt with the International break underway. Lionel Messi is representing Argentina in the World Cup Qualifiers in South America. Former Barcelona teammate and one of his closest friends Luis Suarez also featured for Uruguay against Chile last night. Both the players achieved a feat as they equaled the goal tally that Ronaldo Nazario set in the World Cup qualifiers.

The Brazilian legend had 39 goals which are now at the same number of goals netted by both Suarez and Messi. The Atletico Madrid striker was the first between the two to bag 39th goal scoring a controversial penalty in a 2-1 win over Chile. The 6-time Balon D’or also scored from the spot as Argentina edged out Ecuador with a 1-0 scoreline. Ecuador held a strong defense apart from giving away the match deciding penalty on the 13th minute.

Leo was angry and unhappy to see his mate leave the club without any proper farewell. Suarez cried at his conference where he announced that he will not continue his career at Camp Nou. He says he was not surprised by the way Messi reacted as he knew the pain just like the Uruguayan striker.

Suarez also added that Messi felt he was thrown out of the club due to his poor form recently even tough he provided consistent performances for 6 years at the club. The 33-year-old forward also exposed the peculiar type of things the Catalan club did to their players. Barcelona would train players separately if they were not in the starting line-up. Finally, Suarez acknowledged his current club and justified his move to Atletico Madrid because his family wanted to see him happy. Barca failed to replace the attacker in the transfer window missing out on Memphis Depay.
