Barcelona new coach Ronald Koeman took some important decisions during the transfer window. The Dutch gaffer called the shots regarding a boost required in the budget in order to do business in the market. He did shortlist a few players which could have been affordable but it was too late for Barcelona to take any action. The club board wanted a reconstruction of the team during the summer with Koeman in charge of the actions.
Koeman helping Dest to settle in Barcelona

Ajax youngster Sergino Dest was one of the players who arrived at Camp Nou this summer replacing Portuguese right-back Nelson Semedo. On being asked if it was too early for a move to Barcelona and staying back at Eredivise could have been a better option, Dest replied that he took his decision on his future based on where he will progress and develop his game. He also claimed that he likes to take on new challenges and it will be exciting to play for one of the best clubs in the world, according to Sport. The US International player also explained the possibilities are more at the Catalunya side with players like the 6-time Balon D’or winner.
On the way to make a mark at Barcelona: Dest
Dest gave a simple example to support his point that if he has to stay in Spain then he has to learn Spanish. Similarly, if the right-back wants to perform his best then he has to learn from the best. Koeman has supported the youngster since his arrival at the club and he himself clarified that. The boss is likely to give him more chances to settle quickly and execute his tactics accordingly.
The former Ajax player confessed that there was a brief conversation that took place between him and Leo. However, he could not understand what Messi said because Dest does not understand Spanish. Being the first American to wear the Barcelona jersey in a competitive fixture, the full-back aims high to achieve success staying at Camp Nou. He will travel to Getafe next week after the International football break concludes and La Liga resumes.
