Bertil Roos Career

Despite showing early promise by winning the 1973 US Formula Super Vee championship and also performing well in Formula 2 in Europe and Formula Atlantic in Canada, Roos was only given one opportunity to compete in Formula One. He and his team, Shadow, did not get along well, and the team ultimately decided to work together with Tom Pryce. Roos returned to the United States and Canada, continuing to race.

He was the principal driving instructor for the Fred Opert racing school near Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania, which he later acquired. Throughout the 1980s, Roos was a two-time Can-Am champion in the sub-2-liter class.
