The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly and The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) along with other board members meeting which was scheduled for 3rd March 2020 in Dubai has been called off.
Due to the coronavirus scare and a report of over 700 cases in UAE last month the meeting has been postponed till the month-end.
Along with BCCI President Sourav Ganguly BCCI Chief and Secretary Jay Shah were to attend the meeting.
With travel delayed, the BCCI president spent the day at the Eden Garden, watching the semi-finals of the Ranji Trophy between Bengal and Karnataka
Pakistan was supposed to host the Asia Cup for 2020 with BCCI making it clear that India team won’t be traveling to Pakistan over the security concerns. On Friday BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had said next Asia Cup will be held in UAE and not in Pakistan.
Team India currently is on the NewZealand tour where they have whitewashed the T20 series by 5-0 hosts whereas in ODI host whitewashed them in ODI series by 3-0.
“Ganguly was supposed to leave tonight but the coronavirus scare in the UAE has led to the postponement of the meeting”, a BCCI source told PTI in Kolkata.
“The Chairman of PCB, Ehsan Mani is already in Dubai but CEO Wasim Khan didn’t fly out on Sunday”, PCB Source added.
