Coronavirus: South korea K-league has decided to temporary postpone the start of new season

South Korea’s K-league postponed the start of the new football season on 24th feb 2020 as the country announced a leap in novel coronavirus cases.K-league, one of the strongest in Asia.

K-league was scheduled to start this weekend including current champions Jeonbuk Motors 2020 edition of the 12-team competition.

K League made the announcement after an emergency meeting in Seoul, The K-league has decided to postpone the start of the K-league season 2020 until the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak eases. In the meeting, It was also decided that the South Korean clubs home game in the AFC Champions League 2020 will be held as scheduled in 2020, but without the involvement of spectators behind closed doors.

The 2020 season domestic league of the South Korea was originally to kick off on February 29.
