Sanjay Bangar States The Biggest Challenge That MS Dhoni Will Face With CSK

CSK IPL 2020: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is one of the most successful sides in IPL history. They have won the IPL title three times. They will be looking to march ahead to their fourth IPL title this year. People also call CSK ‘Daddies Army’ because the average age of their side is 31 years.

The CSK team has already suffered major setbacks ahead of the start of the IPL. Multiple members of their squad had tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Also, Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh pulled out of the IPL citing personal reasons.

However, we all expect CSK to still put up a dominant display in the IPL despite the setbacks. Former India all-rounder and batting coach, Sanjay Bangar feels that MS Dhoni will face a huge challenge in the fielding department. He will feel the absence of Suresh Raina in the field. (CSK IPL 2020)

“MSD as a captain, I know has a lot of experience, he has other experienced players as well, but how will he adjust these experienced players on the field is what I am eager to watch,” Bangar told Star Sports Cricket Connected show.

“I do not think there will be any challenges he will face during batting or bowling with respect to these experienced players. The most challenging aspect will be considering the T20 format is based on athleticism and fielding plays a vital role in this format, how will he manage his senior players placing them on the field. I think this will be the most challenging part as a captain for him,” he further said.

Dhoni himself also pointe out the issues in the fielding department. In the last year’s IPL, he stated that CSK may not be a good fielding side. However, his team will cover up the flaw with batting and bowling. (CSK IPL 2020)

“We will never be a great fielding side, but we can be a safe fielding side. We might bleed a few runs here and there, but as long as we use our experience, we’ll make it up with our batting and bowling,” Dhoni had said.
