Dharmaraj Cheralathan Biography: Dharmaraj Cheralathan born on 21st April 1975 is an Indian Kabaddi player and is currently playing for Haryana Steelers in the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League with an experience of almost 20 years. Known for his high strength Angle Hold on both the corners of the mat, Anna is the most experienced player in the league. He has represented Bengaluru Bulls, Haryana Steelers, U Mumba, Telegu Titans, Patna Pirates, and Puneri Paltan in PKL. Dharmaraj is fortunate for winning a total of 9 Gold medals for India in various international tournaments and a PKL title representing Patna Pirates in the 4th season.

Dharmaraj was born on 21st April 1975 in Thiruchanampondi, Tamil Nadu, India in a farming family. He used to work in fields from his childhood along with his siblings. Anna played the sport from his childhood along with his brother and local friends.

Dharmaraj has one brother named Gopu D who currently is representing Tamil Thalaivas in PKL and two sisters.

  • 2017 was an amazing year in Anna’s career in which, he was successful in achieving 2 gold medals, one in the Southeast Asian Games and another in Asian Beach Games.

  • Dharmaraj was signed with Bengaluru Bulls in the 1st PKL season because of his highly skilled performance in local tournaments.
  • In his 1st PKL season, he scored 13 raid points and 39 tackle points in 16 matches.
  • He retained with the team for the consecutive season where he scored 19 raid points and 42 tackle points in 15 matches with 1 Super Tackle and 2 High 5s.
  • In the 3rd season, he was bought by Telegu Titans for his constant performance and the strength to disrupt raiders. He scored 6 raid points and 31 tackle points in 14 matches playing from the Hyderabad side in the season.
  • He was bought by Patna Pirates in the 4th season for Rupees 29 Lakhs to lead their defense and helping the team win their 2nd consecutive PKL title scoring 2 raid points and 39 tackle points in 14 matches.
  • In the 5th season, he was bought by Puneri Paltan but had a poor performance throughout the season. He scored just 25 tackle points in 18 matches.
  • Dharmaraj was bought by U Mumba for the consecutive season and had an amazing performance scoring 40 tackle points in 22 matches.
  • With high skilled performance, he was again shifted to Haryana Steelers in the 7th season. Anna had his personal best tackle score in his PKL career scoring 43 tackle points and 3 raid points in 19 matches.
