FC Barcelona have contacted Renato Sanches agent Jorge Mendes, according to reports in Spain. The Spanish giants are looking to bolster their midfield ranks ahead of the upcoming season. Koeman already has De Jong, Pedri & Busquets in his arsenal but the Dutch boss needs a player with a lot of lungs and powerful in the core. The Dutch coach misses a profile of a player with a journey, with good physique.
According to the Sport, Barca president Joan Laporta and agent Jorge Mendes have recently met with Olivier Letang, Lille’s general director, to sound out a deal. They have discussed whether a loan, a transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy next year would be possible.
FC Barcelona are interested in Renato Sanches
Barcelona are claimed to have met with Lille general manager Olivier Letang to hold preliminary talks. The interest is so real that even Joan Laporta and Mendes have recently met with Olivier Létang, general manager of Lille. But with the Ligue 1 giants qualifying for the Champions League last term, Letang is keen to hold on to his star asset.
Sanches burst on to the scene with Portugal at Euro 2016 as he played a huge role in their shock final win over France. His red-hot form saw him bag a move from Benfica to Bayern Munich. But after failing to find his feet in Germany he was loaned to Swansea – where he endured a horror stint – in 2017-18, before being sold to Lille in 2019.
Since moving to France, Renato Sanches has got his career back on track through hard work – and also going a little more under the radar – as he broke back into the Portugal squad for Euro 2020. Now he may have earned himself another shot at the big time, with Barcelona rumoured to be joined by Bayern Munich on the hunt for the versatile midfielder. At club level, Sanches was a key part of the team that sent shockwaves across Europe by winning the Ligue 1 title ahead of Paris Saint-Germain last season. Till date, the youngster has turned out 59 times for Lille, chipping in with five goals and as many assists along the way.

Tottenham Hotspur are the latest club to show serious interest in the Portuguese international, who is also courting interest from Barcelona and Liverpool.
Speaking to BFM Lille on Thursday, Lille president Olivier Létang addressed the rumours linking Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches with a move away from the club. Létang was questioned on whether the Ligue 1 winner had been in contact with Juventus, denied any links with the Serie A club but added that there had been contact with other big clubs.
The former Rennes president went on to explain that Renato Sanches was happy to be at the club for now, and declined to answer whether any price tag had been placed on the midfielder.
