Euro 2020: Five records that Cristiano Ronaldo can break in Euro 2020

When Portugal steps on the field to compete for Euro 2020 title on 15th June, they will once again be looking forward to their man for all seasons, their talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo to give it his all and help his side make their mark in another tournament under his leadership. 36 year old Ronaldo led his team to glory in the previous edition of the tournament (Euro 2016) and also followed it up with a Nations League win in 2019.

Since then Ronaldo has appeared in three more Euros in 2008 , 2012 and 2016. Whitch stepping on the pitch to represent Portugal in the euro 2020 1 he will become the first ever player in the history to play 5 European championships . This record will really be a tough one to break for almost any player in history.

(2) Highest number of appearances:-

Cristiano Ronaldo is without a doubt the most influential and the go to man for Portugal in all sorts of championships over the last 15 years. He has never left his team alone in in difficult situations and got his team out of a hole on a number of occasions full stop as a result of his such kind of dedication and contribution Ronaldo is on his way to break the record for most appearances in a European championship he can do so by playing in all the three group stage games here on.

The record at the moment belongs to Italian legend Gianluigi Buffon. The keeper has 58 caps to his name, two more than Ronaldo. Speaking as of now , Ronaldo’s achieving this feat seems inevitable as he appears in the Euro 2021.

Ronaldo would then surpass the record set by Bernd Hòlzenbein in 1976.

(4) Highest goal scorer at the EUROs:-

“Cristiano Ronaldo” the name itself brings in the idea of various thundering goal scoring techniques, like bullet headers, sniper shots from great distances ,weak foot magic etc and hence the name “Goal Machine”. His presence makes the goal scoring department of his side look stronger than ever. Ronaldo at present is leveled at the top of the list of highest goal scorers at the euros with French legend Michael Platini.

He however still trails only Ali Daei , surpassing whom he would become the highest goal scorer of all time in international football. The Iranian legend is at the top with 109 goals to his name. Ronaldo would need only 5 more goals to achieve this sensational feat which seems very much possible if he and his team managers progress to round of 16 and even further in this upcoming tournament.
