Former Barcelona youngster makes a big claim on the Blaugranas

Barcelona has lacked in youth development in the past few seasons as they served a delusion making big-money signings to improve the club. However, most of the players who joined the club failed to make a difference. The Catalan let go of exclusive talents graduating from La Masia like Eric Garcia who made their name in other clubs.

Ronald Koeman tried to bring back Garcia to Camp Nou but failed to do so due to a lack of funds. Barcelona should not have let go of youth prospects in the first place. Another such talent is Marc Cucurella who plays for Getafe in the Spanish top tier. Even though his current club is not as big as Barcelona, the 22-year-old is settling quite well and is happy with his performances.

Cucurella made his loan move permanent after spending the 2018-19 season at Getafe. The La Masia graduate did break into the first team for Barca but he felt hindered. According to Radio Marca, the youngster told them he was not able to show what he can do at his former club. He acknowledged Barcelona gave him the opportunity to go out on loans to Eibar and Eibar which helped him develop his game. He did not rule out the return to Camp Nou if possible or Barca comes calling later in his career.

Barcelona to start nurturing young talents

The left-back feel at home in Getafe and wants a strong with the club. Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman is rebuilding the club so that it does not have to go through a state of crisis similar to this. He wants to accommodate youth prospects from across Europe and nurture them at the Catalunya outfit. The Dutch manager already started to implement his ideology signing some of the finest talents.

Francisco Trincao joined from SC Braga, Pedri from Las Palmas, and Sergino Dest from Ajax to provide squad depth and an option for Koeman in La Liga as well as Champions League. Koeman wants the club to reach the same heights as in the past. Koeman has kicked off well with two wins out of three in the league. They will face Getafe after the International break. Also, the Champions League is set to begin at the end of this month which is exciting to see the Blaugrana back in European action.
