Former England International Praises Arsenal Superstar Post Liverpool Win

Arsenal managed to stun the footballing world when they beat the newly crowned Premier League champions, Liverpool. The Gunners managed to secure a 2-1 win at the Emirates, as they closed the gap between them and Spurs to just two points. Amid a tough set of fixtures, things have finally picked up for the Arsenal players and manager Mikel Arteta. They were up against Jurgen Klopp’s champion side and did really well to come out with a win.

It was a surprise for the fans and the German manager himself. The back-line of the Merseyside outfit was in complete shambles. They gifted Arsenal a couple of cheap goals, after taking the lead initially through a Sadio Mane goal. There was no coming back from that then and it ended in a crucial win for the north London outfit.

A lot of players in the Gunners’ squad have been getting criticism right throughout the season. Reiss Nelson has been one of those Arsenal players. However, the young Englishman scored in this game and silenced his critics. His second goal gave Arsenal the lead and proved to be the winner at the end.

It was an error at the back for the visitors, with Alexandre Lacazette stealing the ball. The Frenchman passed the ball into the box, for a cool and composed finish by Nelson to beat Alisson. It really turned the game on its head for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Talking about the young Arsenal star, Newcastle legend Alan Shearer had this to say, “I was really impressed, there was no panic at all for someone from so young. He would not have been in that position many times, but he does not panic.”

“He takes the touch with the left foot and sticks it away with the right. He is under pressure, he has not really got that much time to think about it, which probably helped him.”

Well, Reiss Nelson has earned himself a few fans with that goal. A lot of people were criticizing him saying that he is not good enough for the club. However, those Arsenal fans will for now have to wait and watch.
