Harry Brook was one of the most expensive players during the IPL 2023 auctions. He received a lot of attention from the cricket fraternity after SRH owner Kavya Maran bought him for a whopping 13.25 Cr in the auction. However, he failed to replicate his PSL performance in his debut IPL game against Rajasthan Royals. He was struggling to bat in Indian conditions after a poor start from the top order of SRH.

Sunrisers Hyderabad starts the season with a defeat

Sunrisers Hyderabad started this season with a huge defeat of 72 runs after their batters failed to put up a fight against RR bowlers. Rajasthan Royals scored a huge total of 203 runs after back-to-back fifties from Yashasvi, Buttler, and skipper Sanju Samson. Meanwhile, SRH bowlers were struggling to get wickets from the start.

However, SRH failed to compete against the RR bowlers. Abdul Samad with 32 runs was the highest scorer for the team. They were restricted to a total of 131 in 20 overs by RR bowlers.

Harry Brook and Kavya Maran get trolled

Harry Brook and Kavya Maran became the target of trollers after this defeat. Brook was the biggest investment for the team this season and failed badly in the match. He scored just 13 runs on 21 balls and went out on a googly from Yuzi Chahal.
