The 2021 T20 World Cup is set to kickoff on 17th October at United Arab Emirates and Oman and ICC has finally announced its official schedule after days of anticipation. The Quadrennial tournament was earlier scheduled to be hosted in India but due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the nation, ICC decided to shift it to the two Arab countries.
The tournament will take place from October 17 to November 14 and will feature over 33 matches including the knockouts. ICC had earlier announced the group divisions and the fans were exhilarated by India and Pakistan being put in the same group. Group A comprises Sri Lanka, Ireland, Netherlands and Namibia while Group B has Bangladesh, Scotland, Papua New Guinea and Oman. Top two from each group will join the Super 12 which consists of the big Cricketing nations and they have also been divided into two groups – Group 1 & 2.

BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), the highest cricket governing body of India, was in charge of deciding the fixtures of the 2021 T20 World Cup as India were originally destined to host the tournament and they have now finalized the dates.

- India vs New Zealand on October 31
- India vs Afghanistan on November 3
- India vs Qualifier B1 on November 5
- India vs Qualifier A2 on November 8
India set to face Pakistan in their first match
India have a big opening fixture in hand as they get ready to take on arch rivals Pakistan on 24th October wherein the stakes will be at an all time high. Any cricket match between India and Pakistan always maintains a high intensity and this match will be no different. While the Indian players will have just returned after a busy test series against England and the phase 2 of the Indian Premier League, Pakistan will be playing two T20 series against New Zealand and England respectively before heading on to the tournament.
