The number one goalie for Arsenal sustained a moderate ligament sprain. This was during the loss at Brighton. However, the injury wasn’t as bad as it was initially feared to be. It was being suggested that the player would return by the end of the season.

The club’s official website gave an update on Leno

It read as, “Now participating in outside running, with the aim of starting ball drills in the next few days.”

Further, Chambers had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in the left knee. He hurt himself during Arsenal’s home defeat against London rivals Chelsea towards the end of last year.

A statement on the Arsenal website about his recovery read as, “Progressed to the next stage of his recovery and is now running and integrating outside with light ball work.

The Arsenal Update On Chambers

“Will continue to work hard throughout the close season period with the aim of being back to full training as soon as possible this calendar year.”

It will be interesting to see when these two stars are brought back into the team. For now, the focus will be on the upcoming fixture against the Cityzens. Arsenal already lost the first match, when the season resumed. They were rather weak against Pep Guardiola’s side.

However, with Arteta turning things around, it could be a different story this time. Only time will tell.
