IPL 2020: Chennai Super Kings continued with their dismal performance in the IPL 2020, as the batting order again failed to deliver on Saturday. CSK lost the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 37 runs.
One of the most consistent teams in the IPL, CSK have now lost 5 out of the 7 games in IPL 2020. If CSK needs to qualify for the playoffs, then they have to start winning in the second half of the tournament. They will now face the Sunrisers Hyderabad on 13 October at Dubai International Stadium. They have to mount a comeback in the second phase of the tournament, to qualify for the playoffs.
CSK’s batting order again failed to sustain the pressure of the required run rate. They showed no intent at all while chasing a target of 170 runs against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. They could score only 132 runs in the 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. CSK batsmen have failed to accelerate right from the start of the chase.
The required run-rate kept on increasing, and CSK failed to manage the climbing run rate. Former England international, Kevin Pietersen is not at all impressed with Ambati Rayudu’s running between the wickets during the match.
CSK have continued with their poor performance in IPL 2020.
Rayudu arrived in the crease in the fourth over and got out in the 18th over. The right-hander showed no intent at all despite being in the crease for such a long time. He managed to score only 42 runs in 40 deliveries.
Fans lashed out at CSK on Twitter after their defeat against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Some fans even demanded to bring back Suresh Raina in the playing XI. Raina arrived with the other team members in UAE before the start of the IPL. However, he returned to India citing personal reasons.

The vice-captain of the Chennai Super Kings and the leading run-scorer in IPL history, Suresh Raina, surprised everyone by opting out of the IPL 2020. Raina is currently in India, but the CSK fans are requesting the team management to bring him. Most of them feel that the CSK batting is failing to deliver in the absence of Raina.
Raina has been a vital part of the CSK setup since the very firsts season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008. Raina’s consistency in run-scoring in the tournament has earned him the tag of ‘Mr. IPL’. So, Raina’s absence is definitely hurting the CSK batting line up. If CSK loses two more matches, then they can not qualify for the playoffs.
