IPL 2020: Dale Steyn passes on a heartwarming message for young pacer Tushar Deshpande
IPL 2020: The Indian Premier League has been the platform for many young talents to rise since the very first season in 2008. The Youngsters have showcased their talent in the IPL and even got their chance in the national team.
In this tournament, the talented young players get to showcase their performance and play with the best of the best. This year has been no different with the likes of Devdutt Padikkal, Priyam Garg, Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi showcasing their talent and potential.
Another such name is the young pacer, Tushar Deshpande. He is part of the Delhi Capitals team this year. During the recent encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC), he got his chance to meet his idol, Dale Steyn.
DC posted a video on Twitter, where Tushar talked about his experience playing alongside Kagiso Rabada. He also said how he felt while meeting his idol Dale Steyn. (IPL 2020)

“I am speechless right now because he [Steyn] has been my idol over the years. I met him for the first time, and he answered all my questions very humbly. I felt very good,” Tushar said.
“I asked him, since he was the No. 1 bowler in Tests for eight years, what is the fitness recipe for a fast bowler at the international level? I have managed at the first-class level but the international level what is the recipe? What has he followed? So he was just very humble about it. He just said that it’s repetitive work, good work over and over again,” the 25-year-old added.
Dale Steyn reacted to Tushar’s clip and wished him all the luck and success. He is very happy with Tushar’s enthusiasm. “Nothing better than meeting people who are enthusiastic and excited about becoming better players. Tushar is all that and more! I wish nothing but greatness for you, my friend,” responded Steyn on Twitter.
Tushar has still not got his chance to play in the Delhi Capitals playing XI. Delhi has been in a terrific form so far in the IPL. They have won four matches out of the five they have played and are placed at the second position in the points table. They are looking like one of the hot favourites to lift this year’s IPL. Delhi Capitals will now face the Rajasthan Royals on 9 October at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. They will be eyeing that top position in this match. The match is expected to be a run chase, considering the size of the boundaries in Sharjah. (IPL 2020)
