IPL 2020: Kings XI Punjab receive a huge boost ahead of their match against RCB

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) has received very good news ahead of their upcoming match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Star opener Chris Gayle has recovered from his stomach infection and likely to feature in the upcoming match. When KXIP was thinking to include Gayle in the playing XI, he suffered a stomach infection and had to be admitted to the hospital. The Universe Boss has still not played a game for Kings XI Punjab and will be likely featuring in the playing XI against RCB.

Punjab is in a poor state in the IPL 2020. They have managed to win only a single game out of the seven matches they have played and are reeling at the bottom of the points table. They will be looking to make a strong comeback in the second half of the IPL. KXIP should have won the match against KKR in Abu Dhabi, but they bottled the chase in the last three overs.

Chris Gayle IPL 2020

Although it is not clear whether Gayle will play the next match, Sharjah is still the perfect venue for him to make his IPL 2020 debut. Gayle, being an overseas player, could also replace Glenn Maxwell in the playing XI, who has not performed at all in IPL 2020.

If KXIP does pick Gayle in the playing XI, then either of KL Rahul or Mayank Agarwal will have to bat at number 3. Both of them, have been outstanding in the opening partnership. Both Rahul and Mayank are competing for the Orange Cap with 387 and 337 runs to their name respectively.
