IPL 2020: The CSK squad is getting ready to face the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the first match of the IPL 2020. They are training hard to have an impressing outing in the opening game of the IPL. The IPL 2020 will kickstart on September 19 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The CSK players took part in an intra-squad practice session on Tuesday. The way they played their shots, shows that they have found the rhythm after such a long break.
The CSK team started training late, as multiple members from their squad tested positive for COVID-19. Also, they were unsure of their fitness and their form. Captain MS Dhoni, Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu brutally smashed the bowlers all around. CSK shared a practice session video where we can see players like Faf du Plessis, Murali Vijay, and Ravindra Jadeja, dominating with the willow in hand. (IPL 2020)
Shardul Thakur, Piyush Chawla and KM Asif were bowling. In the second half, MS Dhoni, Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu showcased their batting flair.

CSK was ready to start their outdoor training session in the last week of August. However, 13 members of their team including two players in the likes of Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad tested positive for COVID-19. So, they had to delay their training session. Both these players were in isolation and quarantine. Chahar has recovered and tested negative. He is already back in the training session and is available for selection in the opening match against the Mumbai Indians.
However, Ruturaj Gaikwad tested positive again, so he continues to remain in quarantine. The Yellow Army will be looking to take their revenge for the loss against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the last year’s IPL. MI defeated CSK by just 1 run in the finals of the IPL 2019 and clinched their fourth IPL title. CSK has managed to cope up with lots of setbacks before the start of the IPL. So, they will be motivated to put up a dominant performance in the opening match on September 19.
