IPL 2020: Kolkata Knight Riders emerged victorious in a thrilling encounter against the Kings XI Punjab by 2 runs on Saturday. Mystery spinner Sunil Narine was the Man Of the Moment, who turned the match towards KKR’s favour by just conceding two runs in the 18th over. However, KKR received very shocking news after the match when they heard that the Umpires have suspected him for his bowling action.
Sunil Narine has also faced the issue in his bowling action earlier. The Umpires reported Narine twice during the Champions League 2014. He had to miss the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 as he ha to work on his action. However, he was reported again in the IPL in the same year. The ICC suspended him in November that year.
After the current report, Sunil Narine will be allowed to bowl, until another report comes about his action. If the on-field umpires report his action again, then he will not be allowed to bowl for the rest of the season.
“The report was made by the on-field umpires according to the IPL’s Suspected Illegal Bowling Action Policy, Narine will be placed on the Warning List and is permitted to continue to bowl in the tournament,” the IPL release stated. (IPL 2020)
IPL 2020: KKR register a thrilling win over KXIP.
In the match against KXIP, KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik won the Man Of The Match award, for playing an incredible knock which guided his team to a winning total. However, a lot of credit goes to Sunil Narine and Prasidh Krishna who were superb in the last three overs for them, which made them defend the 23 runs in the last 3 overs. (IPL 2020)

Narine scalped the prized wicket of Nicholas Pooran in the 18th over and then gave away just 1 run in the next four balls, to bring the equation down to 20 runs of the last two overs. However, KXIp were still favourites to win with KL Rahul set in the crease. But, Prasidh Krishna bowled him and gave away just six runs in the over. So, KXIP needed 14 runs off the last over. Sunil Narine exceptionally defended it and KKR won the match by 2 runs. (IPL 2020)
However, KKR management will now have to work hard on Narine’s action, so that he does not get banned.
