WATCH: Suryakumar Yadav hits a sensational six, after getting hit on the helmet by Archer

IPL 2020: The defending champions Mumbai Indians are facing the Rajasthan Royals for the first time in IPL 2020. Mumbai is coming to this match on the back of their win in the last game, while Rajasthan royals are struggling with their losing streak in the last two matches. MI won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a very good start but lost their way somewhat in the middle overs.

However, Suryakumar Yadav played a scintillating knock of 79 runs unbeaten of 47 balls. He guided his team to a mammoth total of 193 runs in their 20 overs. He came in to bat at number 3, rotated the strike well early on to his innings, and then started to showcase his wide range of shots.

In the 19th over, Suryakumar went for an unusual shot off Jofra Archer and the ball struck his helmet. Archer had bowled a knuckleball bouncer, and it missed Suryakumar’s bat and hit his helmet. The blow shook him, and he had to take some time off and get attended by the physio, before getting back again.

But, his reply in the very next ball was unbelievable. He got hit in the last ball, but he was aware of the line in which Jofra will bowl. He reverse-lapped a short of a yorker-length delivery from Archer, spectacularly over wicketkeeper Jos Buttler’s head for a huge six. His pure timing and the pace made sure that the ball went the distance.

This was a terrific hit by Suryakumar, even after getting hit in the last ball. His innings and Hardik Pandya’s late strikes guided Mumbai Indians to the total. Suryakumar smacked 11 fours and 2 sixes during his innings. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya scored quick 30 runs off 19 balls, which included 2 fours and a six. (IPL 2020)
