Virat Kohli Reveals The Reason Why He Refers To Ab de Villiers As ‘Biscuit’

IPL 2020: We all are aware of the fact that both Virat Kohli and AB de Villars are the pillars of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side in the IPL 2020. Although RCB still has not won their maiden IPL title, both of them has scored the bulk of runs for the team. The duo has a great bonding between them, having played together for the RCB since the year 2011.

The COVID-19 pandemic halted cricket for six months. However, both of them entertained fans by hosting live sessions together on Instagram. Virat Kohli also calls AB de Villiers as ‘biscuit’ and he also revealed the reasons behind calling such. (IPL 2020)

“I picked it from South African slang, so people that you like, you are close to, you call them biscuit, biscotti. Because everyone loves biscuits, right?” Kohli was quoted as saying in one of the videos posted by RCB.

AB de Villiers joined the RCB side from Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) back in the year 2011. The RCB captain revealed how he introduced himself to the South African.

They had already practised and we arrived for practice and I said – hello, I am really looking forward to playing with you (at RCB). He responded by saying he was also excited to play for RCB,” he added.

Virat Kohli is now the all-time leading scorer in the Indian Premier League. He has scored 5,854 runs at an impeccable batting average of 37.28. He has smashed five centuries and 38 half-centuries. On the other hand, AB de Villiers has scored 3,889 runs in 130 matches. He also boasts a strike rate of 159.97.

However, in this IPL, Kohli has been nowhere close to himself in the first three matches. Kohli even did not cross the single-digit mark in the two matches out of the three. He just has an average of six and will be looking to turn it around as soon as possible. On the other hand, AB de Villiers has already scored 134 runs at an average of 67 which includes two fifties.
