He was unhappy with the board and the management as he put forward his condition to stay at the club. The Argentine wanted the current board to retire otherwise he will approach the exit door. However, President Bartomeu did not agree to his terms, and the Messi transfer saga accelerated with rumours of being linked to different clubs across Europe.

On the other hand, Lionel Messi has called it truce with the club board but Bartomeu has not yet left his position.
