There were a lot of possibilities with interest from Serie A side Inter Milan as Messi could have joined Cristiano Ronaldo in Serie A. The most prominent transfer rumor regarding Messi was a move to the English Premier League side Manchester City. With Pep Guardiola as the coach, the chances were high as Messi flourished under the Spanish manager during his time at Barcelona. Had not Barcelona chief Josep Maria Bartomeu blocked every way to exit the club, Messi would have joined the Manchester outfit. On the other hand, Lionel Messi has called it truce with the club board but Bartomeu has not yet left his position.
