KKR News 2020: The captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Dinesh Karthik has been under the scanner in the IPL 2020. He has not performed well with the bat, and also some of his captaincy decisions have been poor. So, the fans are demanding for him to be sacked as KKR captain. They want the World Cup-winning captain, Eoin Morgan as the skipper of the KKR. They feel that he can bring back KKR to winning ways.
KKR have played 4 matches in the IPL 2020 so far, and have lost and won 2. They are currently placed at the fourth spot in the points table. However, their recent loss against the Delhi Capitals has angered a lot of fans. Dinesh Karthik sent Andre Russell to bat ahead of him and himself came ahead of Morgan for the run chase. He scored only 6 runs off 8 balls and the required rate increased.
Meanwhile, Eoin Morgan batted exceptionally well. He along with Rahul Tripathi took KKR to the 210 runs mark while chasing a score of 229. KKR former cricketer Brad Hogg ha come out and said that the KKR franchise should not change the captain in the middle of the season. (KKR News 2020)

He added that Karthik is doing well as a captain. Hogg feels that Morgan should not be made the captain, as if he loses form in the season and has to be dropped, then the team will be in big trouble. KKR will then need to change the whole team combination. However, he feels that KKR and Dinesh Karthik should make the full use of Morgan’s experience. (KKR News 2020)

“Look, I’d love this move to make Eoin Morgan KKR captain. Morgan is a great captain, and when you got someone like that in your team, you got to utilise those skills. But Dinesh Karthik is doing a good job, but he has to utilise Morgan’s skills. You gotta realise in their team they can only play four overseas players.
“If Morgan starts finding a little bit of misfortune with his form, they have to bring in Tom Banton. Having him as captain will make it difficult to drop Morgan. So, I’d stick with Dinesh Karthik, but utilise Morgan’s experience,” Brad Hogg said while answering to a fan’s question on his Youtube channel.
