KKR vs MI: Dinesh Karthik Makes A Big Statement On Pat Cummins After His Horrible Bowling Performance

KKR vs MI: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) locked horns with the Mumbai Indians (MI) on 23rd September at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi in IPL 2020. The Australian and KKR fast bowler, Pat Cummins had a horror day in bowling. Cummins did not even complete his full quota of 4 overs and gave away 49 runs by bowling three overs. The Aussie was even wayward in his line and length as he conceded four wides.

However, KKR’s skipper, Dinesh Karthik has come out and defended him despite his off performance in KKR’s first match in the IPL 2020. Cummins is ranked number one bowler in Test cricket. Karthik has put his faith in Cummins and called him a ‘Champion bowler’. He backs him to perform well as the tournament progresses. Karthik says that he will not judge him with his performance in the first match, as he is coming off quarantine after Australia’s limited-overs series against England. (KKR vs MI)

KKR vs MI: Dinesh Karthik makes a big statement on Pat Cummins after his horrible bowling performance

“It is very unfair to judge him right now, he is just off quarantine and he got permission at 3:34 to play the match. We are happy to have him and I do not think this is the game where we need to judge him at all. He is a world champion bowler. I trust him completely and I am sure he will make a good comeback,” Karthik was quoted as saying in the post-match press conference.

However Cummins sparkled with the bat in hand, but the match was finished for KKR by then. He scored 33 runs off 12 balls, which included a 27-run over off Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah was the star performer with the ball, who had got rid of Russell and Morgan and was economical. He smashed four consecutive sixes in Japsrit Bumrah’s last over.
