KL Rahul announces that he has had a successful thigh surgery

KL Rahul, captain of the Lucknow Super Giants, was recently injured in a match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1. Rahul suffered a thigh injury in the match. Following the injury, the famous Indian batsman was declared out for the rest of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season and the upcoming June 7 World Test Championship final.

KL updated his injury status on Instagram, but there is still no word on when the 31-year-old will return. He shared that he has had successful surgery, expressed gratitude to his medical team, and declared that he was on the path to recovery.

Taking to Instagram, KL Rahul wrote, “Hi everyone, I just got done with my surgery – it was successful. A big thank you to the doctors and medical staff for making sure I was comfortable and everything went smoothly. I’m officially on the road to recovery now. I’m determined to get back to my best and get back on the field. Onwards and upwards!”

The Lucknow Super Giants have struggled without KL Rahul. The team has played two games after his injury; the first was postponed due to weather against Chennai Super Kings, and the second was just lost to the reigning champions, the Gujarat Titans.

Their next match is on May 13, and it will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium against the Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers Hyderabad. Lucknow is the favourite to win this matchup based on their current form.

On the other hand, Hyderabad will enter the game riding high after defeating the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals in their last outing. With 11 points after 11 games, Lucknow is in fourth place in the IPL standings, while Hyderabad is in ninth place with 8 points after 10 games.
