Mahendra Rajput’s Early Life
Mahendra was born in Dhule village of Maharashtra, India, in a middle-class family to Ganesh Rajput (father). He was a cricket aficionado and participated in many state-level competitions, but was forced to leave the sport because of financial problems. Mahendra worked from a small age to meet the financial problems of the family.
He was introduced to the kabaddi sport by Coach Jitu Thakre, who recommended him to participate in the sport for his height. Mahendra started practicing the sport to pass the time. Being an unscholarly student, he practiced sports day and night with extreme dedication.
Practicing and working were quite difficult for him. He was unfortunate to pass the Board Exam of 10 because of kabaddi. Soon, he was selected for the state team of Maharashtra and went on to represent on the national level.

Mahendra Rajput’s Career in the Pro Kabaddi League
- Mahendra was bought by Bengal Warriors in the 1st PKL season and retained with the team for three consecutive seasons. In the season, he scored 21 raid points in 8 matches.
- In the 2nd session of PKL, he scored 55 raid points in 12 matches with 3 Super Raids and 2 Super 10’s.
- He was mostly benched throughout the 3rd and 4th seasons and scored a total of 26 points in both seasons.
- In the 5th season, he was released by Bengal Warriors for his inconsistent performance, but was bought by Gujarat Fortune Giants. Coach Manpreet Singh saw the tendency and strength of Mahendra and brought him into the season.
- He emerged as a game-changer for the Giants in the 5th season. In the season, he scored his all-time highest raid points with 57 points in 17 matches and 3 Super Raids.
- Mahendra remained with the team for the next season and scored 28 raid points off 13 matches with 3 Super Raids. He came under national talks after scoring a 7-point raid in a match against U Mumba.
- He didn’t appear in season 7 of PKL.
- In the 8th edition of PKL, he will be representing and Gujarat Fortune Giants.
