A defensive midfielder to pair alongside Joshua Kimmich, Bayern Munich seems to have settled on Casemiro. They lost 4-1 on aggregate to Manchester City in the Champions League quarterfinals, so they want to improve their defence. Tuchel doesn’t appear phased by Casemiro’s prospective market worth or his importance to Manchester United.
Bayern Munich is now in second place in the Bundesliga, one point behind Borussia Dortmund, with just five games remaining in the season. Bayern have not qualified for Europe or the DFB-Pokal since Tuchel replaced Julian Nagelsmann in early April. So, the league is their only shot at a trophy this year.
