Arsenal midfielder Mateo Guendouzi is closing in on joining Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille, with his teammate William Saliba also linked to a move to Les Phocรฉens.
It has been quite some time now that Arsenal want to sell the 22 year old playmaker since he is clearly not in head coach Mikel Artetaโs plans. The Catalan giants FC Barcelona were seemingly interested in signing the youngster on a loan deal last season in a swap deal, but since the arrival of their newly appointed president Joan Laporta, things have changed.

Mateo Guendouzi had last played for the Gunners back in June 2020 and the Londoners have been looking for an ideal suitor for the midfielder since then, which seemingly they have finally got now.
According to reports, Arsenal have reached an agreement with Marseille over the transfer of Mateo Guendouzi and it will be made official in the upcoming days.
Marseille, who are looking to rejuvenate their squad under newly appointed manager Jorge Sampaoli, also signed Barca B winger Konrad Jr last week.
How much will Arsenal get from Mateo Guendouzi’s transfer
It is being reported that Guendouzi will initially join Marseille on loan for the upcoming season. However, the deal in concern includes an obligation to buy next summer. Arsenal are expected to receive a transfer fee of nearly ยฃ10 MIllion for the youngster.
The ยฃ10 Million transfer fee is inclusive of a ยฃ850k loan fee for the first season.

Arsenal have identified Anderlecht midfielder Albert Lokonga as a potential replacement for Guendouzi. Benfica are asking for a transfer fee of nearly ยฃ18M for the youngster.
In other news, the Gunners have also signed Benfica left back Nuno Tavares for ยฃ8 Million who shall compete for the spot with Kieran Tierney.
Apart from the transfer of Mateo Guendouzi Arsenal are also discussing a potential loan move of French centre back William Saliba to the Ligue 1 side.
Saliba, who joined the Premier League club last season for ยฃ27 Million from Saint Etienne, has failed to make an impact till now and Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta reportedly wants him out.
With Arsenal looking to buy Brighton defender Ben White this summer transfer window, the only plausible option would be to sell William Saliba.
