Michael Jordan Biography: Michael Jordan born on 17th February 1963 is a former basketball player who represented the national basketball team of the United States internationally and the Chicago Bulls for 15 seasons in the NBA (National Basketball Association). He is recognized for his stupefying performances as a shooting guard who captured six NBA titles appearing for the Chicago Bulls. Besides being the greatest player in a basketball player, he became the first NBA player to become a billionaire with an extensive net worth of $1.6 billion with a successful endorsement of Air Jordan Sneakers with the NIKE brand. Michael Jordan Biography: Early Life

Michael was a simple middle-class family to James and Delores in the Brooklyn town of New York, United States. In 1968, his family shifted to Wilmington, North Carolina. He was introduced to baseball and basketball by his father. His father encouraged Michael to pursue sports and provided him with proper equipment to practice basketball in their garden.

He played for Laney’s Junior Varsity team and helped the team win two consequent seasons on the high school level. In 1981, he was included to represent the team at the 1981 McDonald’s All-American Game. His high skilled performance astonished different teams and was invited by the college teams of South Carolina, North Carolina, Duke, Virginia, and Syracuse

In 1982, he was fortunate to be provided with a scholarship in the sports category at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. In the university, he pursued his bachelor’s degree in geography. Representing his college at the 1982 NCAA Championship Game, he defeated the team of Georgetown scoring a jump shot in the final seconds, and achieved immense recognition for his astonishing performance.

  • He was selected by Chicago Bulls in the 1984 NBA Games and remained with the team for 15 NBA seasons.
  • In his first season representing the Bulls as a rookie, he achieved massive fame for his performance with 28.2 ppg (points per game). His achievements as a rookie in NBA frustrated his teammates which led to causing many controversies. The Bulls qualified for the playoffs but were conquered by Milwaukee Bucks in the first playoff round.
  • In the next season, he, unfortunately, was injured breaking his foot in the third game in NBA for the Bulls. It took a complete season for his injury to get recovered. The Bulls qualified for the playoffs despite Michael’s injury.
  • He made his epic comeback in the 3rd season of the NBA becoming the second player to eclipse the mark of 3000 points in NBA history after Wilt Chamberlain. The third season was great for Michael for recognizing his defensive skills by becoming the first player to eclipse 200 steal and blocks the shots for 100 times in NBA history. For the Bulls, it was the third consequent season to qualify the playoffs.
  • In the 1987-88 season of the NBA, he was adjudged as the Most Valuable Player in the season for the first time. He was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
  • He was in his complete form and scored 10 triple-doubles in eleven appearances with an average of 33.6 ppg in the 1988-1989 NBA season. The team performed well but was defeated by Detroit Pistons in the conference finals. Michael was mocked by opponents whenever he had the ball in his hand to avoid him from performing well.
  • In the NBA season of 1989-1990, the Bulls conquered the Bucks and Philadelphia in the first round and conference semi-finals. Unfortunately, they were defeated by the Pistons for the third time in a row in the conference semi-finals.
  • The Bulls won their first NBA title after 16 years in the 1990-1991 season. Michael astonished everyone with his highly skilled performances with 31.5 ppg. The squad conquered the Pistons in the conference finals after getting constantly vanquished in the previous seasons. The Bulls defeated The Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA finals.
  • After winning their first NBA title, Michael along with his team astonishingly performed with great confidence and won their second NBA title with Michael adjudged as the MVP of the year for the second time in 1991-1992. In the season, he conquered the team Portland Trail Blazers, the team led by his old rival Clyde Drexler.
  • The Bulls won their third NBA title consequently in a row in the season of 1992-1993. After this achievement, he was adjudged as the MVP and became the first basketball player to win three consequent finals MVP awards.
  • After his father’s loss on 23rd July 1993, Michael Jordan decided to take retirement from the basketball sport and announced his retirement on 6th October 1993.

  • He started his baseball career getting signed with Chicago White Sox in February 1994 in the Minor League Baseball.

  • His mother, Delores Jordan worked as a bank employee while his father James was an equipment supervisor.
  • James Jordan, Michael’s father was murdered on 23 July 1963 in an apparent robbery in Wilmington, North Carolina by two teenagers, Daniel Green and Larry Martin Demery. His body was dumped in a swamp in South Carolina and was discovered on 3rd August.
