Naveen Kumar in his Initial Days
Naveen was born in the Sultanpur village of Gurugram district in Haryana, India to a family with a sports background and later shifted to Bhiwani. He was introduced to the kabaddi sport by his grandfather who was a former state-level wrestler. Naveen lived in a village from where various kabaddi players have emerged.
He was heavily manifested by the sport and motivated by his kabaddi seniors and their achievements. Soon, he started practicing the sport on farms. Naveen took training for the sport by his school’s sports coach. His coach helped him understand all the basics of the sport and master them. In his career’s initial days, he represented his school in inter-school and district-level tournaments.
His raiding skills helped him get selected at higher levels for the sport. While pursuing higher studies from Kuk University, Haryana, he was selected in the university kabaddi team and also represented the team at the national level. In the national tournament, he was the most successful raider and achieved immense recognition for his performance.

- Naveen was signed to Dabang Delhi in the 6th PKL season.
- In his debut season, he scored 177 points in 22 matches with 8 Super 10’s becoming the leading scorer of the team. He became the youngest player to score Super 10 in PKL.
- He was retained in the team for the 7th PKL season. In the season, he scored 301 raid points in just 23 matches with 22 Super 10’s.
