Star RCB Player Suffers An Injury Ahead Of Their Next Match

RCB IPL 2020: Royal Challengers Bangalore have started their IPL 2020 campaign with a bang, with a win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their first match. They will now lock horns against the KL Rahul led Kings XI Punjab on September 24.

However, the team’s Director of Operations, Mike Hesson stated that Chris Morris won’t be available for selection in their next match. Morris has suffered from a side strain and hence can not feature in RCB’s next match.

RCB brought Chris Morris for a whopping price of 10 crores INR in the IPL 2020 auction, to strengthen their bowling woes. The South African all-rounder has an integral part to play in the RCB line up. However, now he needs rest before getting back to action. Morris’s absence may affect the balance of the RCB team, and Virat Kohli will need to be careful to sort this.

“Chris Morris, unfortunately, picked up a slight side strain a few days ago, he would have played a huge role through the middle and death overs, his batting would have had a huge impact as well. Hopefully, Chris will come into consideration for selection in a game or two, we will continue to monitor him,” said Hesson in a video posted by RCB on their Twitter handle. (RCB IPL 2020)

RCB has not been able to win an IPL title despite having a star-studded squad all throughout these years. Moreover, they had a pathetic IPL season last year. RCB finished last in the points table in IPL 2019. However, this time around they started their campaign on a winning note and will be looking to carry on their momentum in the upcoming matches. Ahead of the start of the IPL 2020, Virat Kohli talked about how the team is well balanced in this season. He stated that the team hasn’t had the right balance after the IPL 2016. So, it is indeed a fresh start for them. The other star batsman of their team, AB de Villiers also supported Kohli’s statement and felt that they could have a special season this year. Now, it remains to be seen how that turns out for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. (RCB IPL 2020)
