Real Madrid Transfer News: Star defender set to sign for the Los Blancos

Real Madrid Transfer News

It is no secret that the Spanish giants Real Madrid are set for a massive summer overhaul. After a semi-final exit in the UEFA Champions League, they have identified several areas that need strengthening. With the future of the aging skipper Sergio Ramos still in the air and Raphael Varane wanting to leave, overhauling the defence has become a priority for the Club.

Real Madrid Transfer News: David Alaba is coming to the capital of Spain

The Los Blancos have received a massive boost as Bayern Munich ace defender has signed the initial agreement with them. The Rumors were floating for months after David Alaba refused to sign the contract extension with the German champions. Now it looks like the defender is heading to the Spanish capital for the next part of his footballing journey.

As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the “first part of the contracts” with Madrid have been signed by Alaba:

Romano also stated, Real Madrid will not make the signing official under the season ends.

The Austrian defender will run out of contract at the end of the season, and if the Bayern Munich transfer rumors are true, Real Madrid has pulled a stroke of a genius by landing a world-class defender for free in such an inflated market amid COVID times.

Speaking about his future in February, Alaba said: “I have decided to do something new. It wasn’t an easy decision. “I have not yet made the decision where to go.”

Alaba is a multi-dimensional player as he could slot in at centre-back, left-back, or as a defensive midfielder. The defender is a serial winner as he has won 10 Bundesliga titles, 6 German Cups, and the Champions League twice during his 13-year stint in Munich.

Before making headlines for the Real Madrid Transfer News, Alaba has also been linked with Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester City alongside the French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
