Ron Waterman began his career as a high school art teacher & wrestling instructor before entering the professional mixed martial arts (MMA) arena and becoming a UFC veteran fighter.

Ron entered the professional wrestling scene via Ohio Valley Wrestling, where he improved his abilities as part of a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. Waterman went on to tour the country with WWE performing house and nighttime matches. Waterman continues to wrestle in Japan while maintaining a successful career in the MMA circuit and an ongoing connection with Team Impact.

On November 29, 2008, he defeated fellow American Mark Smith by arm triangle choke submission in their most recent bout. He helped train former UFC interim heavyweight champion Shane Carwin for UFC 116 as his high school wrestling coach.
