However, on Friday, Lionel Messi confirmed that he will be staying in the Catalan club for one more season. The reason being that he did not want to drag his boyhood club and the club of his life to Court.
The potential news of Messi’s departure attracted the attention of a lot of clubs. However, Manchester City and Paris Saint-German were in the best position to secure and afford his services. But, now the scenario has changed, as Messi has decided to stay in the Blaugrana colours for one more season. So, now the attention has turned to players who might join the Argentine and play alongside him in Barcelona this season.

In the meantime, the Indian Premier League is set to kickstart on September 19 after a significant amount of delay. The BCCI has to host the cash-rich tournament in UAE, amid the COVID-19 pandemic. All the franchises have already reached the UAE and started their outdoor training sessions before the start of the IPL.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) also decided to add to the funny side of the Lionel Messi transfer saga. RCB has also started with their outdoor training sessions in Dubai. They posted a picture of their captain Virat Kohli playing football. RCB added a funny twist, captioning the picture as “We heard Messi was looking for some new teammates”.
Royal Challengers Bangalore took a cheeky dig at FC Barcelona, stating that they have their skipper Kohli to play with Messi in the upcoming season. In the picture, Virat Kohli was also positioning himself to kick the ball with his left foot just like Messi.
Virat Kohli loves playing football during his training drills. The RCB and India captain is one of the strongest and fittest athletes going around. FC Barcelona will kick off their Laliga season against Villareal on September 29, at the Camp Nou. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore will kick off their IPL season against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on September 21, in Dubai.
The fans responded to RCB’s tweet and took a dig at RCB’s absurd comparison. One of them even compared RCB’s title-winning drought to Lionel Messi’s transfer saga.
