RR vs CSK: The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League has already started. Chennai Super Kings defeated the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the opening match. The second match was a tight contest between Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab. The match progressed into a Super Over, and the Delhi Capitals found themselves at the winning end.

England and the Australian players have landed late in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as they were playing a limited-overs bilateral series against each other in the UK. However, they had to serve only 36 hours of quarantine, as they moved from one bio-bubble to another. However, the England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler went to meet his family. Hence, he is set to miss Rajasthan Royals’ first game of IPL 2020 against the Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday. (RR vs CSK)

Buttler has reached UAE along with his family. He will now serve a six days quarantine period. Then, he along with his family has to undergo two COVID-19 tests and come out negative. Only then, he can be part of the Rajasthan Royals team for the second match.

However, the rest of the players are fine and will be available for selection in the first match. Rajasthan Royals skipper Steve Smith is set to play in the first match. He had to sit out of the ODI series against England, after getting hit in the helmet in the net session. (RR vs CSK)

Cricbuzz reports that Jos Buttler will miss out the first match for Rajasthan Royals. Hence, David Miller may feature in the playing XI as the fourth overseas player. It is expected that Yashasvi Jaiswal might open the innings along with Robin Uthappa.

Jos Buttler moved out of the bio-bubble after the T20 series against Australia to meet with his family. However, he returned on time to play the ODI series. Buttler is currently in a rich vein of form in the T20 format and is now one of the most dangerous batsmen going around. He played an integral role in England’s T20 series triumph against Australia.

Buttler even performed well for the Rajasthan Royals last year. He opened the innings for them and played 8 matches. He scored 311 runs at a strike rate of 151.70. He smashed three half-centuries last season. Royals will feel his absence in the opening match. So, they need the other batsmen in their team to step up.

On the other hand, CSK has already notched up victory in their opening game against the Mumbai Indians. They will now be looking to cash in on their winning run.
