Shoaib Akhtar takes a sly dig on the Indian captain Virat Kohli

Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has been speaking boldly about matters in International cricket off late. Recently, some former Pakistan cricketers heavily criticized him for praising Indian Cricketers like Virat Kohli. Akhtar confronted them by saying that they should look at the statistics before criticizing him for heaping praises on Virat Kohli. The Indian Cricket Team captain recently completed his 12 years in international cricket.

Shoaib Akhtar recently revealed that he is having a conversation with the PCB for a major post. However, the board denied any such conversation with Akhtar. Akhtar also said that he is ready to step aside from his comfortable life and build a strong Pakistan team for the future.

The Rawalpindi Express, on a popular Youtube show ‘Cricket Baaz,’ talked about the Indian captain, Virat Kohli. Akhtar said that Kohli has now reached a completely new level. According to him, Kohli was nowhere in 2010 and 2011, and then the system supported him. “He was part of the circle; he was a brat like me. All of a sudden, the system supported him. The management went around him. He also realized that there’s a lot of reputation at stake,” Akhtar said.

However, Shoaib Akhtar took a sly dig at the Indian captain and said that it is not Virat Kohli’s fault that he is playing in an easy era of cricket. “It’s also not his fault that Sachin Tendulkar played in a tougher era or Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Inzamam-ul-Haq played a much more competitive brand of cricket. So if he is scoring runs, what can we say about it,” Shoaib Akhtar further added.

In a recent interview with Mayank Agarwal for BCCI, Virat Kohli acknowledged the role that his wife Anushka Sharma played in his life. He stated that Anushka made him see a different side altogether. Kohli feels grateful to have her as his life partner.

“I was a very closed person before, wasn’t very practical. When you see another person and know that your life partner has a different outlook to things, you invariably are challenged to see another point of view,” Kohli told Mayank.

Virat Kohli is currently training with his RCB teammates in the UAE after a forced break of 6 months. He will lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore and will hope to get his hand on their maiden IPL title. They will start their campaign against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on September 21 in Dubai.
