Players Brought at IPL Auctions 2020: Mitchell Marsh, Fabian Allen, Sandeep Bhavanka, Sanjay Yadav, Abdul Samad, Priyam Garg, Manish Pandey
The Sunrisers Hyderabad has been one of the most stable and balanced sides in the past few seasons. The team is entirely carved out as per the needs, and every year the team management hand picks the best possible options available. The auctions for 2020 were not very different. The management just made a few tweaks. The team added Priyam Garg, captain for India under 19 team along with Virat Singh, the star for Jharkhand in Syed Mushtaq trophy this year. The top order of the group is their undoubted strength with Bairstow and Warner opening the batting and captain Williamson batting at number three. The team also has Vijay Shankar, Manish Pandey, and Nabi to handle the workload in the middle overs.
Though the team looks highly settled. On closer inspection, one weakness that stands out is their slog over batting. The team released Deepak Hooda and Yusuf Pathan, whereas Shakib Al Hasan is serving a two-year ban. The absence of these three have created problems for the Hyderabad team, and they would be highly dependent on the latest recruits Virat Singh and Priyam Garg for a flourish at the end.
Mohammad Nabi was deprived of a regular spot in the starting 11 due to the presence of Shakib. However, Nabi will get regular games this season and will get a chance to establish himself as a star in IPL. Virat Singh and Priyam Garg will also have an opportunity to impress the selectors. Khaleel Ahmed will get the last chance to prove himself in T20 and make a place for himself in the upcoming World Cup. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will also get an opportunity to re-establish himself as the new bowl partner with Jasprit Bumrah.
Kane Williamson is out of form since the World Cup, and his form is a cause of worry for the team. Rashid Khan is losing his mojo in the T20 with time as batsmen have started reading his googly with ease. The middle-order will, of course, be a threat.
The SRH team will be one of the front runners of the title. The team is one of the most balanced sides and can defeat any team. The best part about the Hyderabad team is their consistency, and another good campaign seems to be on the cards.
