Team India star player to be ruled out of the upcoming Tour Of Australia

Team India: The presence of premier fast bowler Ishant Sharma has become uncertain in India’s upcoming tour of Australia. The series is tentatively set to start in December. On October 7, Ishant Sharma suffered a muscle tear following experiencing pain on his rib cage. On October 12, he was ruled out of the IPL 2020.

In IPL 2020, Ishant featured in only one game for Delhi capitals (DC) before getting sidelined due to injury. He played against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). However, he could not pick up a wicket during his spell.

“Ishant Sharma experienced an acute episode of left rib cage pain while bowling at a team training session on 7 October 2020 in Dubai. Subsequent investigations revealed that he sustained a left internal oblique muscle tear,” the franchise said in a statement.

Team India star Ishant Sharma will undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will also join him. He was ruled out after SRH’s match against CSK in Dubai. It is expected that the Indian selectors will announce the India squad for the tour to Australia, later this months. Now, it remains to be seen whether Ishant Sharma does make it to the India squad for the Australia Tour.

Ishant also suffered an injury earlier this year. He tweaked his ankle during a Ranji Trophy game and became uncertain for the Team India’s New Zealand Tour. However, he went on to play the first Test match against the Kiwis. However, the same injury kept him out of the second Test in Christchurch.

Ishant Sharma has been an integral part of the Team India Test team but has been out of the limited-overs team for quite some time. India is currently sitting at the top of the points table ICC World Test Championship and Ishant Sharma has played his part in it. He has 97 Test caps under his name and has picked up 297 wickets with 11 five-wicket hauls.
