Sachin Tendulkar made his debut as a 16-year kid in 1989. Tendulkar started his career against a strong Pakistani squad where several fast bowlers such as Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram tried to bully the young batsman. However, Sachin Tendulkar showed his class in the series against Pakistan and responded in a spectacular fashion.

Throughout, his career various bowlers tried to sledge the Mumbai batsman but sooner than later realized that it was a bad idea to sledge the star batsman. Various bowlers with a tremendous reputation have accepted in their careers how things went against them when they tried to sledge Sachin Tendulkar. The star Pakistani spinner Saqlain Mushtaq recently admitted that he was embarrassed when he tried to sledge Sachin Tendulkar.

However, Sachin Tendulkar turned the table against Australia in a knockout game in 2000. Sachin Tendulkar remembered a match of 2000 when they faced Australia in 2000 in the Quarter-final game of Knockout Trophy.  Sachin said:  “I cannot forget the match against Australia in the ICC Champions Knockout Trophy in Nairobi in 2000 as well. The wicket was once again damp and not a very easy one to bat on. There was plenty of life on the surface,”

He further continued “The way McGrath bowled the first over, I spoke to Sourav Ganguly and suggested that I go after McGrath. I realized we have to do something out of the box (play mind games) I exchanged a few words with him which took him by surprise. I also started playing shots against him, though some of them were risky,”

Sachin Tendulkar revealed that McGrath was one of the most dangerous bowlers in the Australian side. Sachin revealed that he planned to resettle McGrath by sledging him. Sachin quoted “The plan was to get him angry and make him attack my body instead of looking to get me out. We were beaten on occasions but also were able to make McGrath bowl where we wanted. I made a quick-fire 38 and this came in a winning cause so I was very happy,”

India managed to defeat Australia in the game and went on to play the final of the game.
