Tottenham Transfer News: Tottenham is confident that a £15 million offer for Southampton custodian Gavin Bazunu would be accepted

Tottenham Transfer News: According to sources, Tottenham is confident that a £15 million offer for Southampton custodian Gavin Bazunu would be accepted. After making his debut for the struggling Saints, who were officially relegated from the Premier League over the weekend, Spurs are chasing the 21-year-old.

Bazunu is reportedly in contention to replace Hugo Lloris as Tottenham’s starting goalkeeper for the next season. Last week, it was reported by Football Insider that Tottenham has been keeping a close eye on Bazunu and is pleased with his progress.

He’s the kind of young talent who may flourish under the next manager, which is exactly what Spurs are seeking this summer. If Southampton is demoted, the club’s best players will be snapped up by the clubs in the Premier League.

Bazunu’s outfield teammate, James Ward-Prowse, who is widely predicted to spearhead the talent exodus from St. Mary’s Stadium, is also a target for Tottenham. Lloris, who is 36 years old and still has a year left on his contract, is likely going to leave the club this summer.

The team captain has had a terrible season and is apparently considering a huge offer from a Saudi Arabian club as he contemplates his future with Tottenham.

Bazunu, who transferred to the Saints from Manchester City for a reputed £12 million last summer, has played in 32 Premier League games and 37 overall, allowing 61 goals and recording five clean sheets.

The 13-cap Republic of Ireland international had successful loan stints at Portsmouth and Rochdale, leading to a starting role in the Premier League.
