All the IPL teams are currently busy in their training sessions for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The captain of RCB, Virat Kohli, is very confident that the team is going to perform very well in this season. Kohli stressed the positive vibes that his players are having. He also said that RCB has never been so calm while preparing for an IPL season. The RCB skipper feels that the team is ready and extra motivated since his side has not yet gone on to win an IPL title.
However, Virat Kohli feels that this year his team has a perfect combination, a right mixture of youth and experience. He feels confident that this will lead to some extraordinary performance in this year’s IPL. Virat Kohli interacted with Sports presenter Dalit Sait in the latest episode of RCB’s Bold Diaries. There, he said that the team is very well balanced as a squad and as a system.
Sait asked him whether RCB could script a miracle this season. He said, “We definitely feel it will. We [AB de Villiers and I] have spoken about this that we have never felt so calm going into a season before. He is coming from a very different space, he has been enjoying his life.
“He is very relaxed. He came out to play a few times recently, and he was looking like he’s still playing in 2011. He is as fit as ever. I am feeling like I am in a much better space, much more balanced when it comes to the environment in the IPL.”
Virat Kohli ignites confidence in his players.
Kohli said that it is very crucial for his team to not contemplate on the bad memories of the past. Instead, they should focus on their game and the season ahead and work as a team to stand the best chance of making it out in this year’s IPL.
“It’s all about disconnecting with things that have happened in the past and not taking that baggage. We have done that too many times. Just because we have a bunch of players that are so skilled, people like seeing them play is the reason why people have had so much expectation as well. We are not going to think of what-ifs, we know what we can do as a team. And we’re just very, very keen and hungry to go out there and do it,” he added.
