 In essence, the decision will extend Ganguly's tenure as BCCI president by three more years

The Supreme Court rendered a favourable decision in favour of the former batter.

After the court's ruling, Ganguly and Jay Shah will continue to hold their respective positions within the BCCI.

Sourav Ganguly, the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, kept quiet on September 14 about the Supreme Court's decision about the BCCI amendments. 

The Supreme Court's approval of the BCCI's constitution revision made it possible for its president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah to remain in their positions without having to complete the required cooling-off period
